Dr. Cédric Blanpain has invited Prof. Margaret A. Goodell, Vivian L. Smith Chair of Regenerative Medicine, from Center Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX, US to give a seminar on Thursday 20th of April at 1PM. She will give a talk about

"Epigenetic Regulation of Hematopoietic Stem Cells".

 

The seminar will take a place at ULB - Campus Erasme - C Building - Auditoire B1.003.

 

The focus of the Prof. Margaret Goodell Lab is the basic mechanisms that regulate hematopoietic stem cells, and how their misregulation leads to leukemia development. Stem cells reside in the bone marrow in a quiescent state, but rapidly become activated to regenerate the hematopoietic system. We are studying several genes involved in different aspects of stem cell activation, including some that transduce initial signals, and others that regulate self-renewal and differentiation.
