New insights in tumour heterogeneity and transition state during EMT

U-CRC researchers published a major study in Nature

Cedric Blanpain (U-CRC) coordinated this study published in Nature in collaboration with KUL and Erasme hospital showing that spontaneous EMT in primary tumour cells in vivo proceeds through distinct intermediate states with different tumoral and metastatic characteristics. These results identify different EMT transition states that are associated with different tumour functions, and have important implications for the understanding of tumour heterogeneity, growth, invasion, metastasis and resistance to therapy.
