Pr Martine Piccart was awarded the Foundation ARC Léopold Griffuel Prize

Targeted therapy in breast cancers

Professor Martine Piccart (Jules Bordet Institute, U-CRC) has received the prestigious Foundation ARC Léopold Griffuel Award in clinical and translational research for her work in the field of targeted therapies in breast cancers.

She is a leader in the field of targeted therapies for breast and ovarian cancers. In particular, she has been actively involved in showing the importance of trastuzumab in the adjuvant treatment of HER2+ breast cancer.

She has also influenced the field of cancer by leading a large number of working groups at European level, including the founding, in 1996, of the Breast International Group (BIG).
